NHS Staff Survey reveals heartening rise in recommending CCGs as positive places to work

The recently-published NHS Staff Survey has revealed wide variances in how CCG staff feel about their places of work, with a staggering 95.5% of staff at South Tyneside CCG recommending it as a place to work — the highest score achieved across all types of NHS organisations.  

At the other end of the table, just less than half of all staff at Kent and Medway CCG agreed that they would recommend their place of work.

The survey was conducted in October and November 2020, with 51 of England’s CCGs participating. It was great to see so many CCGs improve on their overall score between the 2019 and 2020 surveys, despite (or maybe because of?) the challenges brought about by the pandemic in 2020, and with so many CCG staff being required to work from home. When asked whether they’d recommend their organisation as a place to work, North Cumbria saw their score rise substantially from 29.8% in 2019 to 55.4% in 2020, whilst Derby and Derbyshire CCG also increased from 48.6% to 72.8%.

“We will continue to support CCGs in their ongoing efforts to return to ‘business as usual’ as the pandemic shifts again through the spring and into summer. We are always happy to discuss options wherever we can provide further help, guidance and support, whatever form that may need to take.”
