Healthcare systems to undergo collaboration reviews

The HSJ has reported that 11 ICPs and STPs across England will undergo reviews to understand how well they are collaborating, both within and outside of their coronavirus services.

The reviews will begin this month, and the CQC, who will undertake the reviews, has said that by looking at collaborations in ICS and STP areas, it aims to “help providers of health and social care services learn from the experience of responding to COVID-19 around the country”.

The first reviews will be reported in the CQC’s COVID-19 insight report in September and the State of Care report in October, and will focus on the following:

• Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes ICS
• Norfolk and Waveney STP
• The Black Country and West Birmingham STP
• Lincolnshire STP
• North East and North Cumbria STP
• Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria STP
• Frimley Health and Care STP
• Sussex Health and Care Partnership STP
• North West London STP
• One Gloucestershire ICS
• Devon STP

The CQC state: “The reviews will support providers across systems by sharing learning, helping to drive improvements and preparation for future pressures on local health and care systems.”
